June 29, our department responded to a report of a missing person, Tonya Lee Whipp 

Whipp is a white female, approximately 5’7” with light brown hair. 

Tonya left her beloved pets, ID, purse, vehicle behind.

Polk County Sheriff’s deputies searched on airboats in Lake Hart while volunteers searched on the ground throughout the area.

7:15pm  Auburndale Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement searched Jake Rudy home in the area of Indiana Court and Rose Street.

Rudy said Whipp was at his home for about 45 minutes on June 6, but denied any involvement in her disappearance and said he doesn’t know where she is.

Auburndale Police released new information regarding the man Whipp was living with. Police confirmed Whipp was living with a man named Russell Carroll.

Police confirmed Caroll was the same man who was recently released from prison for the attempted murder/stabbing of his 16-year-old girlfriend in 2003.
